Sometimes finding a palette you've never worked with is tough. This one reminds me of my parents dining room from the 90s! We had lots of pink chintz puff curtains and navy accents. Pretty sure there was a border of large white peonies around the top of the room too.

Sorry guys! Still coughing and trying to get caught up! Not sure how it's less than 2 weeks until Christmas and I am not prepared. Like at all.

Well... it's been a week. Started with me in bed Sunday and couldn't get out until Wed. Chills, headache, coughing (so much coughing!)... you know the one. Then yesterday both my kids come back for round 2 of this darn illness and this time it's worse. Fevered like crazy! So... here's to the end of the week! Seeeeeyyyyaaaaa! Thanks to all my customers who were very patient with me and for my printer @AstleyGilbert for rushing a few jobs when they themselves were scrambled. Am so fortunate. Now... to disinfect this house!!

I started off with lots of colour on this design but for the @spoonflowerchallenge I muted it to a softer palette. It's always hard to know what might work in the challenge or work for sales after. Wouldn't this be so pretty in a nursery or little girls room?

I haven't entered a Spoonflower challenge in a little bit... sometimes it just doesn't work for my bundles, the timing is off or I haven't felt the motivation in the prompt. I was so excited about this one I found myself drawing over the weekend when I had a quiet moment. Will have to put it aside for my custom work today but I love when I have something to get me motivated to get caught up and work on. I do work better when I have a variety of projects and a full plate.

We had a snow day yesterday and it's about to rain this aft and my kid just left for the bus in her sandals. This was the mood yesterday. It was so dark out and drizzly. I spent the aft working on the couch under a blanket. This actually reminds me of a shirt I had in the 90's... wore it on my first day of grade 9. Think I might still have the High School Photo with me wearing it... going to see if I can't find it in my memory box to see if I am right!

Ok I just couldn't not post about the Jays today. I am not a huge ball fan and have to admit that over the years when I "watch" I am not fully engaged and find it slow. So yes... I am totally jumping on the World Series Band wagon. I even watched a game all by myself the other night. My son makes fun of my cheering (was getting the uniforms mixed up the other night and cheering for the wrong team by accident) ... and thats ok. I guess the replay wasn't an actual play happening again lol. He thought it was so funny that I was yelling "do it again!" as Yesavage caught and threw the ball to first for an amazing second play or so I thought. OMG. It's been fun to say the least and am really ROOT root rooting for the home team tonight.. Go Jays Go! EDIT: I added this into my spoonflower shop... link below! No logos or Jays Licensing issues lol... just fun little blue birds playing ball.

Morning friends! Did you know that I graduated in 1999 from Graphic Design (yes you read that right!! totally aging myself!) from Fanshawe College? When I signed up it was called Advertising Art and never in a million years did I think I would be working on a computer one day... let alone drawing and selling my art online. I still create logos and brochures... but my passion is creating surface design and after I discovered procreate and this magic Apple Pencil, I never looked back.

I have been holding on to this art for some time now wanting to start a Book Club Line. I am still pondering ways to print booklets and stickers and other products but for now... digital is where I will start. In my Etsy shop you will notice a new section for this and I hope to start adding in some more printables that can be used for Book Lovers or Book Clubs.

When I was a kid my best friend and I would spend hours cutting furniture out of catalogues and then put loops of tape on the backs of them. We would draw multi level homes on paper with a wax paper overlay so we could stick on and move these furniture pieces around. So funny how the things we do as children make their way into our lives one day. I ended up in graphic design and she took interior design! I was in my element making this chair and adding in my patterns... it brought be back to those creative afternoons.

Found my walking routine again after struggling to find a consistent time that worked over the past year or so. I love the morning air and how it mentally sets the tone for the day. Plus I sit all day so I need to get moving! And look... natures patterns!

Sometimes I struggle coming up with new colour palettes that I haven't used in the past and definitely have a hard time with names. This one would be geared towards tween aged girls. Any suggestions as to what I could name this bundle? Was thinking something like Grape Crush or Violet Meadow?

I love trying new things. @golden.coil is holding a design contest for a planner cover so here I am creating a way. I usually build my patterns by isolating each element first then creating a seamless file in Illustrator. I chose a different process here and am loving how it tuned out - always lots of texture and whimsy. ##GCxLIMITED25
